These cabbage and cheese stuffed bread rolls are a delightful and unique snack or appetizer. Soft rolls are filled with a savory mixture of sautéed cabbage, melted cheese, and herbs, then baked to golden perfection. Perfect for parties, picnics, or as a cozy treat!

Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 2 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
For the Bread Rolls:
- 6–8 medium-sized dinner rolls or buns
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Add the shredded cabbage and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.
- Season with smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Stir in shredded cheese and parsley.
- Prepare the Rolls:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice off the tops of the rolls and hollow out the center, being careful not to break the bottoms or sides.
- Stuff the Rolls:
- Fill each hollowed roll with the cabbage and cheese mixture, pressing gently to pack it in.
- Replace the tops of the rolls.
- Bake:
- Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the filling is heated through.
- Serve:
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
