Ingredients:

  • 1 small head of cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (or more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes or fresh parsley for garnish

 

Instructions

  • Heat the Oil:
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  • Sauté the Garlic:
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Cook the Cabbage:
    • Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet.
    • Toss to coat it in the garlic and oil.
    • Sauté for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
  • Add Lemon and Seasoning:
    • Drizzle the lemon juice over the cabbage.
    • Season with salt and black pepper.
    • Toss well to combine.
  • Serve:
    • Remove from heat and garnish with red pepper flakes or parsley if desired.
    • Serve warm as a side dish.
