Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 2 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
For the Bread Rolls:
- 6–8 medium-sized dinner rolls or buns
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Filling:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant. Add the shredded cabbage and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. Season with smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Stir in shredded cheese and parsley.
- Prepare the Rolls:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice off the tops of the rolls and hollow out the center, being careful not to break the bottoms or sides.
- Stuff the Rolls:
Fill each hollowed roll with the cabbage and cheese mixture, pressing gently to pack it in. Replace the tops of the rolls.
- Bake:
Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the filling is heated through.
- Serve:
Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
